disease. Brief BiographyDr. Abrams received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1951, and his M.D. from the University of Michigan in 1955. He performed his internship and residency in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Michigan Medical School. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology (Anatomic Pathology). Dr. Abrams joined the University of Michigan Department of Pathology faculty in 1959, becoming an Assistant Professor in 1963, an Associate Professor in 1966, and Professor of Pathology in 1969. He served as Director of Anatomic Pathology from 1985 to 1989, and currently serves as attending Surgical Pathologist in University Hospital, with subspecialty interests in cardiovascular and gastrointestinal pathology. He has conducted research in the area of gastrointestinal microbial ecology and the pathogenesis of enteric infections; and also in the area of myocardial ischemic injury. |
