Brief Biography

Dr. Michael received her M.D. at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1983. After residency training at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan she engaged in Fellowship training in cytopathology at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, under the direction of Dr. Carlos Bedrossian. She then accepted a faculty position at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, where she was the Director of Cytopathology. She then joined the Faculty of the University of Michigan Department of Pathology as an Assistant Professor in 1995.

Dr. Michael is currently the Director of the Cytopathology Laboratory and Cytopathology Fellowship, where her clinical and research interests involve pulmonary pathology, breast pathology, and Pap smears.
