Brief Biography Dr. Ramsburgh received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College, Davidson, North Carolina in 1965. After serving in the United States Army from 1965-1967, he attended the University of Virginia Medical School, Charlottesville, Virginia, earning his M.D. in 1972. His first residency was in the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan from 1972-1977, following which he served on the Faculty in the Department of General Surgery at the University of Michigan for three years. He was a staff surgeon at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti, Michigan from 1980 to 1994, during which time he was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. Ramsburgh undertook a second residency in pathology
in the Department of Pathology, University of Michigan from 1994-1996,
followed by a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at the University of Michigan
from 1996-1998. Dr. Ramsburgh is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor
of Pathology at the University of Michigan. While at the University of
Michigan and at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Dr. Ramsburgh has received
several prizes and awards for excellence in teaching.
