Brief Biography

Dr. Lucas received his M.D. from Wayne State University in 1988. After Pathology residency training at Wayne State University (1998-1991), he spent two years as a Surgical and Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology Fellow at the Mayo Clinic (1991-1993). In 1993, he accepted a faculty position at Wayne State University, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2000 and worked there until 2003. Dr. Lucas was Course Director for the sophomore Connective Tissue Unit at Wayne State University from 1995-2003 and Director of Immunohistochemistry at the Detroit Medical Center from 2000-2003.

Dr. Lucas joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 2003 and was promoted to Professor in 2006. He is an expert consultant in Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, and has served as Director of Immunohistochemistry since 2006.
