What is Everyday Lean?
Critical to sucess of any lean organization is the active engagement of all employees in problem solving.
The "Everyday Lean Idea" program is built on the principle that employees know their work the best and as a result, they are the best suited to develop suggestions to make their work even more effective.
The Everyday Lean program is focused on employees recognizing waste in their work and in their respective work areas, and suggesting improvement ideas. Employees are encouraged to make suggestions when:
- Something they do every day makes them wonder if there is a better way to get the job done
- If they see ways to make the University of Michigan and the Department of Pathology safer in their work area
- When they see the potential for a mistake to be made in their work area
How can you participate?
Please share your ideas with your supervisor using the suggestion form (links below). All suggestions will be acknowledged!
If your suggestion is implemented, it will be featured in the Department of Pathology and you will receive recognition for this success including a certificate for your improvement. There are no cash rewards tied to this program.
