As part of one of the largest health care complexes in the world, the University of Michigan Department of Pathology has provided laboratory service distinguished by excellence since 1956.

MLabs is the Department of Pathology's Reference Laboratory Program. Our goal is to bring together state-of-the-art technology and highly trained personnel, including nationally recognized faculty to provide comprehensive, high quality laboratory testing and personalized service to physicians, community hospitals, independent laboratories and managed care organizations.

MLabs combines the sophisticated testing and informatics capabilities of the fully accredited U-M laboratories with the resources of an academic and teaching institution in its delivery of laboratory medicine. MLabs is proud to be a part of one of the country's top institutions - ranked 13th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2008.
