Dr. Christopher Beecher has accepted our offer to join the faculty as a Professor of Pathology effective 1 November 2007. He is a joint recruit of the Michigan Center for Translational Pathology (MCTP) and the Michigan Metabolomics and Obesity Center (MMOC). Dr. Beecher is a world renowned leader in the field of "metabolomics" and was co-founder of the company, Metabolon, Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Beecher will be developing technologies for the detection of hundreds to thousands of metabolites in complex biological specimens for the purposes developing novel disease biomarkers as well as understanding disease biology.
