Autopsy and Forensic Services


An autopsy will not be performed until the pathologist has a properly signed autopsy permit it must be signed by legal next of kin upon death (Order of Legal next of kin: Surviving legal spouse; adult child; parent; other blood relative,  sibling, grandparent, etc.; or legal guardian only in none of the above exists) or it may be obtained via the witness permit line 936-5087.

It is the responsibility of the attending physician to complete the death paperwork.
