The Department of Pathology is pleased to announce Lynn McCain as the winner of Michigan Medicine's inaugural MGROW Team Member Champion Award. McCain's creative and practical solution stood out among 53 submitted ideas aimed at reducing administrative burden and inefficiencies. Lynn McCain, Senior Project Manager

The MGROW Getting Rid of Waste campaign, launched in early March, called on staff and faculty to submit ideas that would help eliminate tasks that no longer serve the organization’s core mission of delivering exceptional patient care, advancing research, and providing world-class education. The campaign was a resounding success, reflecting a strong culture of continuous improvement and team member engagement.

McCain’s idea proposed contracting with food truck vendors across the area. This initiative hopes to save employees time, reduce the cost and hassle of delivery, and eliminate the need to search for parking. In addition, it offers steady income for local food truck operators. Her idea was recognized for its positive impact on team member experience, addressing daily frustrations with a simple, scalable solution.

Congratulations, Lynn! Your idea is shaping a better, more effective Michigan Medicine for everyone.
