The Department Welcomes Eight New Clinical Fellows
By Lynn McCain | August 3Each year, a new group of clinical fellows joins the department to pursue their training in subspecialty areas as they take their final preparatory step toward becoming independent pathologists serving in hospital laboratories, academic medical centers, reference laboratories, and community laboratory settings. This year, we welcome eight clinical fellows to the department.
Ashley Brent, MD: Dr. Brent graduated from Wright State University Medical School before pursuing an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at the University of Michigan. Last year, she completed a Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology fellowship at Michigan and is continuing her training as a Dermatopathology Fellow.
Christopher Henderson, MD, PhD: Dr. Henderson received his MD and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Virginia Medical School before coming to the University of Michigan to pursue a Clinical Pathology residency. He is continuing his training as a Hematopathology Fellow.
Michele Jin, MD: Dr. Jin graduated from Central Michigan University College of Medicine before completing her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Henry Ford Hospital. She is continuing her training as a Hematopathology Fellow.
Chia-Ming (Jimmy) Lee, DO: Dr. Lee graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery before coming to the University of Michigan for an Anatomic and Neuropathology residency. He is continuing his training as a Neuropathology Fellow.
Joshua Maciejewski, DO: Dr. Maciejewski graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at the University of California, San Diego. He is continuing his training as a Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Fellow.
Lauren Miller, MD, MJ: Dr. Miller graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and earned a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law at Loyola University before coming to the University of Michigan to complete her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency. She is continuing her training as a Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Fellow.
John Runge, MD: Dr. Runge graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School before completing a Dermatology residency at Michigan. He is continuing his training as a Dermatopathology Fellow.
Jacob Sorenson, MD, PhD: Dr. Sorenson graduated with an MD and PhD in Virology and Immunology from the University of Nevada School of Medicine before joining the University of Michigan to complete a Clinical Pathology residency. He is continuing his training as a Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellow.
