Dr. Ashley Brent selected as Assistant Chief Resident

Corey Post and Nathan McCammon, 2023-2024 Chief Residents in the Department of Pathology, are pleased to announce that Dr. Ashley Brent will be joining the chief resident team as the Assistant Chief for the 2023-2024 academic year. Please join us in welcoming her into the new role!
Brent grew up near Dayton, OH and studied neuroscience at The Ohio State University. While there, she served as Vice President of her pre-health sorority, Delta Omega Kappa. She attended medical school at Wright State in Dayton and continued to serve others through leadership, culminating with her role as Vice President of the Medical School Student Council. She knew early on that diagnostic medicine was the right fit, and pathology was the place she could help patients find their most sought after answers. She is so glad she chose University of Michigan for her training and is excited to pursue a fellowship in dermatopathology upon completion of her residency training. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their "zoo" (2 dogs and 2 cats), lifting weights, going to pilates, and visiting family and friends.
