Congratulations to Nicholas W. Lukacs, PhD, Professor of Pathology, on his installation as the first Godfrey Dorr Stobbe Professor of Research, Medical School.  This endowded professorship celebrates Dr. Lukacs' long history of research and academic successes. Currently he is the  Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs with responsibility for  the research track faculty and is one of the Directors of MICHR. He holds numerous patents and multiple NIH RO1 grants, as well being the PI of a T32 Training grant.  He is the past director of the Pathology Graduate Training Program, and is a founder of Opsidio, a start-up Biotech company.  In addition, he has over 300 scientific publications.  He has been been busy since coming to the University of Michigan 22 years ago as of post-doctoral fellow.  The ceremony for this well deserved honor will take place Monday, May 12, 2014 in the Marvin and Betty Danto Auditorium at the Samuel and Jean Frankel Cardiovascular Center at 4:30pm.  A reception will follow in the CVC Atrium at 5:30pm.
