UM Announces $10M Gift for Global Health Equity

Dr. Tadataka Yamada and Leslie YamadaThe University of Michigan announced today a gift of $10M from Dr. Tadataka Yamada and Leslie Yamada to create a new U-M-wide Center for Global Health Equity.  The Department of Pathology’s own Dr. Lee Schroeder has focused his career on global health, in particular, developing the essential diagnostics list for developing countries, understanding the current landscape within these countries, and finding the most efficient ways to improve access.  “This is an exciting development,” said Schroeder. “Anyone interested in global health will have a larger, more collaborative community with which to engage.”
