On Friday, March 6, the Department of Pathology hosted the 2020 Mucosal Immunology Symposium in collaboration with the Society for Mucosal Immunology and the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center.

The event was held at U-M’s Palmer Commons and featured a variety of oral lectures, networking opportunities, and an afternoon poster presentation session. The conference featured a number of local and regional attendees, including PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Toledo.

The symposium also featured a keynote address, delivered by the Scientific Director of the Food Allergy, Dr. Nicholas Lukacs. Here, he discussed the importance of pursuing a topic that you love within the field of science.

Overall, event organizer Catherine Ptaschinski, PhD, called it a “great experience” and appreciated the contributions of all who helped to make the symposium a success.
